What will you learn in this lesson?

After completing this lesson, you’ll be able to:

  • Understand the impact of archiving a Project.
  • Explain how to archive a Project.

Let’s set the scene.

Aprika Creative has successfully completed the website build project. All the work is completed, all invoices have been issued and paid, plus the client is loving their new website! Time to move on to the next project. Layne is going to archive the Grommets, Inc. website project.

Why archive a Project?

A Project will be automatically set to “complete” when all the Milestones and Actions are set to complete. It is also possible to archive a Project.

When archiving, the Project will be removed from the list of active Projects on the Console, Whiteboard, Timesheet, and Scheduler.

Once a Project is archived, it is still possible to access the Project via Global Search, Project List Views and can be included in reports. You can use the Archived field as a filter to create a list of active or inactive Projects.

Let’s archive a Project.

Layne is ready to archive the website build project. Here are the steps:

  1. Navigate to the Project.
  2. Click Edit.
  3. Check the Archived checkbox.
  4. Click Save.
Archive a project by checking the Archived box.

Before we move on…
